JO HODSON
Director and Principle Architect
Jo is the founder of Mother Architects and has 30+ years experience in the business, with 20 years spent as Principle architect at Hodson Architects - so she knows a thing or two.
Jo is RIBA and ARB registered and has been an external examiner at Sheffield, Huddersfield and Nottingham Universities as well as teaching at Leeds Becket and Sheffield Hallam.
Jo produces all of the design options, planning drawings, building regulation work and feasibility plans (amongst loads of other stuff) for Mother. Her experience ranges from managing 400+ unit sites down to working on the coal face having renovated, extended and adapted multiple homes over the years with her family.

SAM MARRIOTT
Managing Director
Sam is qualified in Industrial Design but transferred his skill set to Architectural and Project Management work almost immediately. It wasn't a huge leap given he was basically brought up on building sites (his family owning a building firm).
Sam produces plans, renderings and other visuals for Mother and also keeps things smooth during the planning process and on-site. He puts together most of the Design and Access statements and other documents such as feasibility, heritage assessments, planning statements and tender documents.

ABI GLENTWORTH
Head of Projects
Having started with Mother straight after completing her Interior Architecture degree in 2018, Abi has worked on over 150 projects to date. These range from small extensions and internal reorganisations to £500,000+ refurbishments, Art Galleries and housing developments.
Abi produces the CAD drawings which include work for planning submissions and building control documents alongside Jo. In addition, as Head of Projects, Abi knows and manages the progress of each job during work stages.
Although we aren't doing the whole 'likes long walks and films' thing, Abi has specifically requested that this bio makes her love of dogs known, and would like to request that clients DO NOT lock theirs away when she attends appointments and surveys.
