CHAPEL MEAD
NORTH KELSEY

Chapel Mead development was undertaken by Augustine John Developments, with Mother Architects providing a service taking the works from planning on the greenfield site through to final build sign-off of eight executive homes.

Completion: Summer 2021
Project Value: £3,500,000

BURNSIDE
MOORTOWN

The brief was to realise the potential of a run-down cottage on a large site in Moortown. We designed two large extensions and extensively modernised internally, creating light bright spaces within the property. Mother has delivered this as a turn-key project.

Completion: Spring 2021
Project Value: £250,000

THORPE HOUSE
BISHOP NORTON

A traditional build on a very restricted site. Mother took this project from outline permission for a bungalow to a 1.5 storey home that is playful with space throughout. Fitted with lead cheek dormers and of stone construction, it is traditional in its aesthetic as required by the local Heritage Officer but has all the feel of a modern home internally.

Completion: Autumn 2020

Project Value: £400,000

DOCKS ACADEMY
GRIMSBY

Mother Architects were engaged by the team at Docks Beers to design their first-floor venue space, Docks Academy.

Docks Beers is a brewery and taproom in a former Church in the heart of Grimsby's oldest industrial area. The design of the venue was all about celebrating the space. Working with the existing sweeping roof trusses and arched windows we needed to apply a light touch whilst creating functional space required of a venue on the national circuit.

We worked extensively with lighting, audio and visual designers to ensure the technical design was exact. The additional created spaces include toilets, ticket office, bar, storage and a VIP lounge that gives views across the whole space.

Completion: Spring 2020

Project Value: £150,000

PASTURE ROAD
BARTON UPON HUMBER

The Pasture Road project has been developed by Charworth Homes, with Mother Architects carrying out revisions of their original planning permission. We have a scheme of 16 homes on this brownfield site, working with the developer to create imaginative yet practical family homes.

Completion: Scheduled Autumn 2022

Project Value: £3,000,000

PRIVATE DWELLING
MARKET RASEN

We were engaged to seek permission for a C3 dwelling on greenfield land outside of the town of Market Rasen. We were successful in this and obtained permission for a large 2-storey home with a roof terrace providing grandstand views over Market Rasen Racecourse. The main home is paired with a range of stabling and a competition-sized menege.

Completion: Scheduled Winter 2022
Contract Value: £800,000

SEGGIMORE FARM
GLENTHAM

Our client purchased the site with outline permission in place which needed regularisation. We worked with the local authority to re-word the reserved matters on-site to allow a partial start. Following this, we have submitted a detailed application for six executive homes and have begun works on the two large stone barn conversions.

Completion: Scheduled Summer 2023
Project Value: £3,600,000

PRIVATE EXTENSION
MANTON

Our client wanted to create a kitchen and entertaining space that blended seamlessly with their stone-built farmhouse. They wanted the design to link with the main house but function independently if required and provide flow into the garden. Planning permission was obtained, building control approved and a contractor engaged working to a tight schedule as the client was hosting their daughter's wedding! Works were completed on time to a high standard.

Completion: Summer 2020
Project Value: £200,000

PRIVATE DWELLING
TOFT NEXT NEWTON

The tiny home is possibly the smallest dwelling we will ever do. The reason? It was done under Part Q permitted development. We took a small brick-built cartshed with an agricultural holding number and used planning policy to get permission for a home in a location that would otherwise be virtually impossible to achieve.

The 48sqm 1-bedroom property was comfortable internally and the client was really pleased to be on-site. Since the occupation, we have achieved and build-out a second permission for an extension, taking the property to 2-bedrooms and 88sqm internally.

Not bad for a site that "would never get planning".

Completion: Summer 2021
Project Value: Phase 1 £75,000  Phase 2 £50,000

WARREN VALE FARMHOUSE
NORMANBY-BY-SPITAL

We achieved permission for this agricultural tied farmhouse through a detailed response to the relative policy including addressing animal welfare issues and showing a proven business case.

The 6 bedroom property has extensive views over the surrounding countryside from almost every room along with views into the livestock yard from key locations. Internally, the property focuses around an atrium type space around the main staircase, with floor to roof glass on the west elevation.

The build includes a separate farm office and store for business and links to the house by the triple garage.

Completion: Spring 2017

Project Value: Undisclosed
